Homemade Pizza

This dough recipe was one we found online and we love it because the dough is non-rising which makes it quicker to make and we've added our favorite toppings !


Ingredients


  • 1 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Pizza Sauce: From Fraiche Foods Cookbook

  • 1 can whole tomatoes (28 oz/ 796 ML)

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Toppings: our favorite toppings

  • Mushrooms

  • Artichokes (marinated in a jar)

  • Red onion

  • Honey garlic sausages

  • Fresh basil

  • Mozzarella

  • Goat cheese

  • Arugula

  • Balsamic reduction


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all dough ingredients together until a dough forms, roll out the dough on a flour dusted surface until its the size you want (approximately 10 inches in diameter). Place the dough on parchment paper on a pan or on a pizza stone.


To make the sauce, combine all ingredients in a blender or use a hand blender to blend until all ingredients are combined.


To make the balsamic reduction, add one cup of balsamic vinegar to small pot, bring to a boil and then reduce the temperature and simmer for about 10-15 minutes. It will continue to thicken as it cools.


Spread the tomato sauce over the dough and top with your favorite toppings. For ours, we chopped all toppings and placed them on the pizza except for the balsamic reduction, fresh basil, and arugula. We then topped with mozzarella and goat cheese.


Cook on 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes until the crust is browned and cooked through. Once out of the oven, we added fresh basil, arugula and drizzled with balsamic reduction.
