Homemade Pasta

This is how we make our homemade pasta!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of all purpose white flour, extra flour for dusting and adding when the pasta gets sticky

  • 1 cup of semolina flour

  • 5 eggs


For this recipe we use 500 grams of flour (2 cups) which calls for 5 eggs and feeds 5 people. If you're feeding more or less - adjust the measurements. We use the Mercado Pasta Machine, you will need to follow instructions on your machine but here's how you make the pasta!


Add both types of flour into a bowl and mix together, make 5 wells in the flour and drop in the eggs . Mix together until it forms a dough. Using a well floured countertop or wooden board, dust a generous amount of flour and start kneading your dough. Keep dusting flour if it starts to get sticky.


Once kneaded (around 1-2 minutes) then you can start to flatten and separate the dough using a knife making 4-5 sections to use through your pasta maker.


Follow the instructions on your machine in order to make the specific pasta you're looking for.


In our machine, we ran it through 0 twice and then 1-5 one time before putting it through the fettucine step. We continuously dusted with flour through each step.
