Apple Crisp (gluten free - no refined sugar - vegan)

Apple Crisp is a fall classic. Baking seasonal desserts is truly the best thing you can do. Apples are so delicious, you don't need to add all of the added refined sugars to make this a tasty treat!


Ingredients:


Filling:

  • 6 cups macintosh apples (peeled and diced into 2 inch chunks or slices)

  • 2 teaspoons arrowroot powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon all spice

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/8-1/4 cup coconut sugar (adjust to your liking/the tartness of apples)

Crisp:

  • 2 cups rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup almond flour

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F.


In a medium bowl toss your apples in the arrowroot powder and filling spices and pour into a 9x5 or 8x8 baking dish.


In the same bowl, combine all crisp ingredients. Make sure all ingredients are covered with the coconut oil and maple syrup.

Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until crisp is brown. Enjoy!
